Cheapest Windows Phone Nokia Lumia 510 announced without WP8 inside

If the Lumia 610 is the cheapest Windows phone device, then there is cheaper than it, that's the new Lumia 510.

Mainly targeted at emerging markets, the Lumia 510 runs Windows Phone 7.5. It will be updated to Windows Phone 7.8 after launch, but it’s not going to get Windows Phone 8 (because of its hardware limitations).

Nokia Lumia 510 features
The new Lumia features a 4 inch WVGA display, HSDPA, Wi-Fi, GPS, Nokia Maps, Nokia Drive, 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S1 processor, 256MB of RAM, 5MP autofocus camera, 7GB of fee storage space on SkyDrive, and a 1,300 mAh battery. It doesn’t have MicroSD card slot, and neither a front-facing camera.

Nokia Lumia 510 price
The Lumia 510 will be released in November, first in India and China. It will cost around $199 (€153) before taxes and subsidies, coming in five color versions: black, white, red, yellow, and blue. The new handset should help Nokia ship more Windows Phones this quarter, but it remains to be seen if it can have a considerable impact on the company’s earnings.
