Comparison of Optical Image Stabilisation with HTC One and Nokia Lumia 920

Optical Image Stabilization, or commonly called the OIS is a technology to reduce the camera vibration caused by hand movement. This vibration causes the image to blur, making OIS feature is especially useful for users of smartphones.

In this world, until now there are only two smartphones that features OIS, which Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One. Although both have OIS technology, but they have different technologies.

Nokia Lumia 920 using a floating lens technology for OIS, while HTC using sensor-shift technology. Normally when compared to other smartphones that do not have OIS feature, Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC One is superior.

But what about video recording results both compared to each other?



Video above is a test video recording quality testing conducted by AnandTech. Video above shows that both have the same good quality recording in a state with sufficient light.



The second video above compare HTC One with Nokia Lumia 920 and the iPhone 5 in low light conditions, proved HTC One can grasp objects better. HTC One produces a brighter image than their two competitors. But unfortunately the framerate is not as consistent as the two competitors so sometimes video looks less smooth.
